Hello there – thanks for visiting!
About me: My name is Monica Caron. I’m a 30-something wife, mom and lover of food. My husband, daughter and I live in Manhattan in a one-bedroom 750 sq foot apartment. I have a full time job in the publishing world, I’m brutally honest, I’m forever disorganized, I don’t love to shower (but I do it anyway), and I am a beauty product junkie.
About Simply in the Flavor: Cooking is a passion of mine. However, I don’t make time consuming dishes – I just don’t have patience for that. Cooking can be uncomplicated and still be delicious. Being honest about what happens after you have a baby is also a passion of mine. Because there is so much shit that people don’t tell you that happens after you have a baby. So I thought I would create a place where I can share healthy, delicious and not-so-time consuming recipes – including stuff for babies and kids, and also share some honest encounters that I have had with myself, my body, my husband, my sanity and so on since the arrival of my daughter. I’m hoping to open the dialogue so we can talk honestly about what it means to be a parent – without having to constantly caveat how much we love our kids. Because hey, we love them. A lot. But sometimes this gig is tough. And it’s OK to talk about it.
Thanks for joining me and I hope you enjoy!
